The Bear Community Kitchen is open.
This is more than a kitchen — it’s a place of welcome, warmth and belonging.
It will be at the heart of our hospitality: bringing people together, helping people feel connected, and tackling food poverty in our community. From Bear Cubs to our Sunday evening community meal, and our new Cooking with English (ESOL) classes, the kitchen will enable us to offer great food and a genuine welcome at everything we do.
We'd also love to see it used by local entrepreneurs — a space where talented cooks can scale up from home kitchens to host pop-up supper clubs, cater community events, and create long-table meals that gather neighbours around food and friendship.
We are in need of a few items for the kitchen to function and have created this wish list for those who feel able to purchase an item(s) as a gift.
Important Information
Once you have purchased an item, please mark it as purchased — this is not done automatically by the site.
Please arrange delivery to your home address, not to The Bear Church. We will be holding a blessing for the kitchen on Mothering Sunday, 15th March, 10.30am when items can be brought along.
Some items require a specific brand or make. If a link is provided, please purchase only from that link.
We would love to support Deptford High Street — if possible, please consider buying from Peter and Joan, whose shop stocks high-quality items.
Please note: Nesbit charges £7.49 for deliveries under £30.
Thank you for helping us do something that will nourish far more than appetites.
